Into the Fey Wilds

Can you escape before you go mad?

You and your party have been traveling the world, making a name for yourselves by completing quests and winning hearts like any good adventurer should. Unfortunately, a recognized name doesn't pay the tavern bill. So, you make your way to your local guild house and look through the available contracts.

One contract, which just so happens to offer a substantial reward, catches your eye. Queen Marwyn of Selea is in search of her grandfather's stolen pocket watch. This golden watch was said to have been a gift from The Voideye himself. It is beautifully crafted, never loses time, and is wound with an enchantment of time stop.

The watch was reportedly stolen from the Queen's chamber by a rabbitkin. And, after a brief period of investigation, the rabbitkin was determined to be Valin'fair, a minor Fey lord who is also known as the White Rabbit of Wundarvale. Valin'fair is a notorious theif and trickster, with a love of shiny, enchanted artifacts.

You pull the contract notice from the wall and hand it to the guild master. "Ah, the repost? Very well," he says.

You ask him what he means.

"Second time we've run this contract," he tells you. "Queen opened this one a few weeks back. Girl named Alice Keenly took it, but we never heard from her again. You see, Valin'fair likes to hop across the planes, stealing what he can where he can, but he makes his home in the Feywilds."

"The Feywilds can be both a wonder and a terror. People from our plane can have issues with disorientation and memory loss when they make it back. And that's if they make it back and haven't gotten lost, gone mad, or worse." The guild master clears his throat awkwardly. "But I'm sure that won't be an issue for you folks. So, are you interested?"

You and your group debate amongst yourselves for a minute. You have your doubts and worries but the reward is too good to pass up. You decide to take the contract.

"Well good luck. While you're there, see if you can't find our girl, Alice. Even if you can't save her, she may have left some clues behind. She was a professional and I'm sure she would want to spare those who follow the same fate. Be careful, adventurers. And good luck."
